Epiq Discover Version 4.6 Release Notes (February 2026)
This release contains updates and improvements to Epiq Discover. The following notes highlight new enhancements to Epiq Discover and provide a list of bugs addressed in this release.
Release Highlights
Release 4.6 contains the following features, as well as additional enhancements listed in this document. The following sections contain details about these features and enhancements.

. You can now use the Chat feature in Inspect as well. The chat functionality in Inspect works the same way as in Review.

. In the Document List within Inspect and Review, you can now view the list in two modes: List and Grid. In List view, documents appear as they did previously, with an icon column where you can click to see family, conversation, and near duplicate. Grid view, which was previously available only in the undocked viewer, is now available at all times in a split-screen layout with the Document Viewer. The Grid mode enables you to view multiple metadata columns at once to analyze data. When viewing the Document List in Grid mode, you can modify the columns in the grid and define both default and custom views.

This release contains the following enhancements and updates.
General
Added Epiq suite shortcuts
You can now access Epiq AI and Epiq Narrate from Epiq Discover. Refer to Epiq Suite shortcuts for more information.
Process
Archive file processing update
For projects created in Epiq Discover release 4.6 or later, when processing an archived file, after extracting the top-level archive, the system continues to create a record for it and then deletes or moves its native file to DataHub based on the project settings. You can view the top-level archive record in Inspect. Metadata fields are populated for this record.
You can choose to delete or move the top-level archive to DataHub. By default, the system moves the top-level archive to DataHub. This feature helps reduce high-cost storage usage.
When you choose to store top-level archives in DataHub, the system saves the file in a folder labeled
-under> . When the system fails to move the archive to Datahub, the field displays Failed to move archive to DataHub.
When you choose to delete top-level archives, and the system fails to delete the archive, the field displays Failed to delete archive.
To configure the top-level archive file processing setting, refer to Configure top-level archive file processing setting.

Inspect/Review
Chat update
You can now use the Chat feature in Inspect as well. To use Chat in Inspect, in the , select > and then . The chat functionality in Inspect works the same way as in Review. In Inspect, Chat includes all documents added to the AI Model. In Review, Chat includes only promoted documents added to the AI Model. Your System Administrator at Epiq can enable or disable the AI Model in Epiq Discover. When enabled, you can access this feature. (940575)
Added the ability to share folders and saved searches using hyperlinks
In Inspect and Review, you can now share folders and saved searches using direct hyperlinks for quick access to relevant documents. This enhancement adds a share as hyperlink option in the contextual action menu for folders and saved searches, consolidating following actions into a streamlined menu for better usability.

For search folders, the menu displays , , and options.
When you open the shared link, the system checks your login and access. If you are already logged in, the link opens the folder or saved search directly. If you are not logged in, the system takes you to the login page first and then opens the folder or saved search after you sign in.
The shared link does not expire and remains accessible as long as the referenced folder or saved search exists. The documents shown in the link depend on user’s role, permissions, assignments, and secure folder access. If you do not have permission, or if the folder or saved search no longer exists or has moved, the system displays a relevant error message.

Auto redaction update
When you delete an auto-redaction job, the system now automatically deletes all auto-redactions applied through that job. When you click
for the job, the system displays a confirmation dialog asking you to confirm the action. Once confirmed, the deletion progress is tracked as a new job type called .
You can view the status of the job in the page. The job pop-up displays the following information. (421112)

Transfer to Relativity update
When transferring native files to Relativity, if the associated images are in PDF or multi-page TIFF format and you select the option under >, the system now automatically converts them to single-page TIFF to ensure compatibility with Relativity branding requirements. (799288)
Document List updates
In the Document List within Inspect and Review, you can now view the list in two modes: List and Grid. In List view, documents appear as they did previously, with an icon column where you can click to see family, conversation, and near duplicate. Grid view, which was previously available only in the undocked viewer, is now available at all times in a split-screen layout with the Document Viewer. The Grid mode enables you to view multiple metadata columns at once to analyze data. When viewing the Document List in Grid mode, you can modify the columns in the grid and define both default and custom views.
You can switch between the existing List View and the Grid View by selecting or at the top of the Document List. Your selection remains active for the current login session until you change it. Additionally, you can set either view as your default view in .

In Grid view, the system initially displays only the document grid. Selecting a document opens the document viewer.

In List and Grid views, drag the resize handle between the document grid and the document viewer to adjust their horizontal sizes. Also, you can close the document viewer by clicking
at the top-left corner of it.

List view updates
Filter update
In List mode, moved filter options such as , , and from the dropdown to

. When you select these options, the respective dates appear in the list. Also, when you select or in , the system automatically updates the corresponding selection in
and displays the respective dates in the list.
Undocked Viewer updates
Document grid is now streamlined with compact density, auto-fit columns, and a responsive design. It supports horizontal and vertical scrolling, maintains consistent styling, and resets to your default settings after each session.

Document List: Content search update
Updated the pane in and viewers to match the design of the pane in the viewer. (1015203)
Search highlights update
The system now highlights the relevant terms in the , , and viewers when you use advanced search syntax, such as logical operators and proximities, in the Search box. Also, added check box to the pane. When you search using the Search box and the system highlights the matching terms, this check box is automatically selected to indicate that the highlighted terms are based on the Search box query. Microsoft Teams chats processing update
Updated the processing behavior of modern attachments, GIFs, emojis, and stickers.
Emoji, Sticker, and Giphy processing
For the projects created in Epiq Discover release 4.6 or later, the system no longer extracts emoji, sticker, and Giphy as attachments. For these items, the system displays the URL in the MSG files and the actual images in the HTML file. If the URL cannot be retrieved, the HTML file displays the URL instead.
Modern attachment processing
Changed the behavior for creating placeholders when the system fails to extract modern attachments. System Administrators and Epiq Administrators can now enable or disable placeholder creation.

Added the ability to produce non-searchable PDFs
You can now create non-searchable PDFs for images when creating a production. To do so, in , select in > . (958777)
Number Suffix toggle update
Now, when creating a Production, in the section, you can toggle the option on or off when applying Bates numbering at the level. (723584, 1029579, 1029593)

Epiq Assist updates
Updated the label to across all user-facing interfaces. This change applies to menus, buttons, and tooltips. (1026553)
Added the ability to track actions on saved searches
You can now track the creation, editing, and deletion of saved searches through the Audit History Report by User.
