Redact a document in Review

You can redact information on document images. You can redact an area in the document or redact one or more full pages. Also, you can add a redaction comment. To add or modify a redaction comment, refer to Add or modify comments in Review for more information.

In the project settings, you can set the redaction labels that appear in the Reasons menu. Refer to Modify review settings and highlights for more information.

Perform the following procedure to redact information.

  1. In the Project page, select .
  2. Select a document to view in the Docked Viewer or click in the Docked Viewer to open the Undocked Viewer in a new browser tab.
  3. Select IMAGE to display the image of the document.
  4. Click to open the Toolbox.

  5. To redact selections in the current document, perform the following steps.
    1. Select in the Toolbox, then click the Redact icon . In the Docked Viewer, you can also click on the bottom of the page.
      • The system keeps the Redact icon selected until you select another option in the Toolbox. This helps you make multiple redactions on the document images by single clicking the icon.
    2. In the Reasons menu, select a reason from the list. Or, create a new reason by selecting . Then, type the reason.
      • When you use a reason for redaction, the system will use this reason as the default option for further redactions. Also, when you create a new reason, the same appears in the Reasons menu, which you can select for further redactions.

    3. Draw the redaction over the text.
    4. To modify an existing redaction, click the redaction. When blue handles appear on its border, select or enter a different reason.
  6. To redact one or more full pages, perform the following actions.
    1. Click in the Toolbox.
    2. In the Redact Full Pages dialog box, select All pages, Current page, or Page range. If you select Page range, enter a page range.
    3. From the Reason drop-down list, select a reason. Or, you can select and type the reason in the field that appears.
    4. Click Redact.
  7. Click in the Toolbox to view the redacted information.
