View Processing Exception reports

When a processing exception occurs, Epiq Discovery records file details, such as the file name and location, file size, the reason for the exception, and whether the document was promoted. The exception report can help you determine, for instance, if a file needs manual processing. A Processing Exception report contains the following tabs.

  • shows general information about the report and the filter conditions (Custodian, Source, and Data Name).

  • shows a summary of exceptions per custodian.

  • typically describe physical issues with the file, including Corrupted File, Encrypted File, and more. Each row in the report shows information about the document, exception, and whether the document was promoted.

  • typically describe logical exceptions such as Empty File, Extracted Text Excluded Due to Size, Unsupported File, and more. Each row in the report shows information about the document, exception, and whether the document was promoted

  • contains a list of possible exceptions, including a description for each and the exception type (Material or Informational).

The Processing Exception report displays up to 45,000 rows in Excel format. If the processing exceeds that limit, the report appears in CSV format.
