Search for a document state in Inspect
During the Analyze phase, in Inspect, you can search for documents in a particular state using the Document_State field. This field enables you to view items excluded from processing, including NIST, excluded, and archived items.

To search for documents by document state, complete the following procedure.

In the Main Menu, select > and then .
- Define the search criteria.
- In the first dropdown, select .
- In the operator dropdown, select one of the following options.
- . Returns documents that contain all of the selected values.
. Returns documents that contain any of the selected values.
- In the last field, select one or more of the options.
- - journal email (email shell with no content) and compressed archive (container) files, such as MBOX, NSF, OST, PST, and ZIP files.
- - extensions specifically set to be excluded from processing in .
- - known files on the NIST list that are automatically excluded from processing.
- - files that are processed but not yet promoted for review.
- - files promoted for review.
- Click outside of the selection box to save your selections.
- Optional. To include related documents, click and select one of the following.
- . Includes the family documents.
- . Includes the near duplicate documents.
- . Includes the email documents in the same thread.
- Click .
