About reprocessing documents
During the Analyze phase, in Inspect, you can use Reprocess to send selected documents through the Process phase again. You can choose to keep the current file hash or recalculate a new file hash. The file hash acts as a digital fingerprint to uniquely identify each file.
Processing platforms, such as Bloomberg and Microsoft Teams chats, convert original files into reviewable formats prior to collection. Without the original files, the system cannot reprocess these files. In addition, when collected via Microsoft 365, parent ICS files from the Outlook Calendar Source Data cannot be reprocessed.
Note that when you reprocess documents with the Extract Attachment option selected, Epiq Discover deletes attachments (child documents) before replacing them. For the attached documents, the file hash and sequence portion of the document number can change. In addition, all existing metadata for the attachments, including coding, are deleted and reset.
