Time zone display

During collection, Epiq Discovery standardizes file date and time fields using a Coordinated Universal Time (UTC) offset. This standardization method uses the offset from UTC to automatically align file dates and times that span differing time zones. For example, a file created at 1PM in Eastern Standard Time in the U.S. is actually created before a file that is created at 1PM in Pacific Time Zone.

When viewing metadata in INSPECT and REVIEW, you see all file date and time relative to the Time Zone set in Project Settings. The dates and times in the header of email images display the Time Zone set in Project Settings when the document was last imaged.

If an administrator changes the Time Zone for your project, metadata automatically reflects the change. However, to reflect the time zone change in previously processed email image and text files, you must re-image and OCR the emails.
